Why is my archive mailbox failing verification checks after changing the domain name?

​​Why is my archive mailbox migration project failing verification checks after changing the SMTP addresses of users?


If, as part of a merger or acquisition, you change your users' archive mailbox SMTP addresses to be the domain name of the acquiring company's domain name, this will flag Office 365 to disable the accounts and prevent user access to their archives. To correct this, within MigrationWiz, change the addresses back to the original addresses prior to performing your verification and migration.
