What is the difference between Google calendar reminders and Google calendar notifications? Are they migrated?

Answer:

Google calendar reminders:

  • These are a new type of event from Google. They are reminders for tasks, and contain no attendees.

  • They are a new feature that integrates a users' Google calendar and To-Do list, by way of reminders.

  • Reminders remain in your Google Calendar until the task is accomplished.

  • More information about Google reminders can be found in the official Google blog post. You will find it here.

  • Google calendar reminders do not get migrated.

Google calendar notifications:

  • These are desktop pop-ups that alert you about upcoming meetings that are scheduled in your Google calendar.

  • Events and their corresponding notifications are deleted irrespective of whether the event was attended or not.

  • Google calendar notifications do get migrated.
