You must assign subscriptions to users before MSPComplete members can perform services for those users. This article explains how to purchase, review, and manage renewals for user subscriptions.

The following steps explain how to acquire and assign subscriptions. These steps differ depending on whether you purchase subscriptions with a credit card or through a distributor.

After the billing method is set up, workgroup administrators and managers can acquire the necessary subscriptions. The sections in this article guide you through this process, summarized here:
You must assign subscriptions to a customer’s users before MSPComplete members can carry out services for those users. This typically happens when the users are brought on board. For example, if you upload user records from an Active Directory endpoint, MSPComplete prompts you to purchase (if using credit card billing) and assign the subscriptions during the upload. Only administrators and managers can purchase subscriptions using the workgroup credit card. Administrators, managers, or agents can assign subscriptions already purchased through a distributor.
Note: If you do not assign subscriptions to users while onboarding customers, you can assign the subscriptions before you begin to manage services for the users. MSPComplete will automatically prompt you to do this when necessary. You can also assign subscriptions to users on the customer’s Users page, which is explained in the
Apply subscriptions to users topic.
Subscriptions automatically renew in a year unless you disable the auto-renew feature. For example, you’ll need to disable auto-renewal for users no longer employed by your customers so that you are not billed for renewals. The
sections below explain how to monitor and change the renewal status.
If the workgroup administrator has set up credit card billing, administrators and managers can purchase subscriptions as needed. The MSPComplete interface guides you through the purchase process, and a purchase screen can appear in different contexts, such as when onboarding new users or setting up services. As demonstrated in the following illustration, follow the on-screen prompts to purchase the necessary subscriptions.
You can add subscriptions to MSPComplete by redeeming a coupon from a distributor, from another workgroup, or from a different MigrationWiz account
To redeem a coupon:
If you have unassigned subscriptions, you can generate a coupon to transfer them to a different workgroup or a different instance of MSPComplete. This situation typically occurs if you have allocated more subscriptions to a workgroup than you need for the workgroup.

The Overview page summarizes the subscription information for all customers in a workgroup:
The number of users in this workgroup who have active subscriptions assigned to them.
The number of valid, purchased subscriptions that can be assigned to users within this workgroup. You will see a number here if you redeemed a coupon from a distributor, from another workgroup, or from a different MigrationWiz account.
The number of subscriptions in the workgroup that will expire within 30 days unless the status is changed to enable auto-renewal, as described below.
The number of subscriptions within the workgroup that have expired. After you archive a user record through the customer’s User page, that user’s expired subscription is no longer counted here.
Edit the workgroup to enable or disable the purchasing of subscriptions through a distributor.
Add payment/Remove payment
Add or delete a credit card payment method for purchasing subscriptions. For details, refer to the Subscription billing article.
Purchase licenses for premium products not covered by subscriptions. For details, refer to the Licenses article.
On the Subscriptions page, administrators and managers can view and update subscription renewals for any subscribed users within a workgroup:
The Subscriptions page initially lists all users for all customers. You can use the
Filter drop-down menu to narrow the pool of subscribers shown. Select any combination of the following:
Subscriptions that have reached their expiration dates and were not set to auto-renew.
Expiring in 30 days
Subscriptions that will reach their expiration dates within 30 days. This includes both the subscriptions that are set to auto-renew and those that are not unless you also select one of the Auto-Renew options (enabled or disabled).
Expiring in 90 days
Subscriptions that will reach their expiration dates within 90 days. This includes subscriptions that are set to auto-renew and those that are not unless you also select one of the Auto-Renew options (enabled or disabled).
Subscriptions set to renew automatically at the end of their subscription periods. This is the default state for all new subscriptions.
Subscriptions that will not renew automatically at the end of their subscription periods.
Subscriber’s first name.
Subscriber’s last name.
Subscriber’s email address.
A check mark means that Auto-Renew is ON.
An X means that Auto-Renew is OFF.
Expiration date of the subscription.
After you have selected a set of users, you can change the auto-renew settings for their subscriptions:

The card billed is refunded one to two business days after the refund request.
