‚ÄčIs the 'Drafts' folder migrated, and how are draft messages displayed at the Destination?

Answer:

The 'Drafts' folder is migrated as part of a mailbox migration.

It will be migrated over to a corresponding folder named 'Drafts' at the Destination, unless there is a folder mapping explicitly added which alters this behavior. Refer to KB005017 for more information on folder mappings.

The display behavior of draft items will vary depending upon the Destination.

Examples:

  • For Office 365, when a draft item is created at the Destination, the red "DRAFT" label is only applied when there is no recipient listed in the "To" field - but the email itself will appear in the 'Drafts' folder.
  • For G Suite, when a draft item is created at the Destination, it will always have the red "DRAFT" label, regardless of whether or not it has a recipient listed in the "To' field.
