Agent installation fails on Windows Server 2003

If you are installing the Windows Agent on Windows Server 2003 (32-bit/x86), which does not already have Service Pack 2 installed, the installation will fail.

To troubleshoot this issue, first confirm that servers running Windows Server 2003 have Service Pack 2 installed. To confirm this, do the following:

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel.
  2. Select System.
  3. On the System Properties dialog box, select the General tab.

If Service Pack 2 is installed, you will see this on the General tab, as shown in the screen shot. If not installed, you will not see "Service Pack 2" displayed.

Download and install Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (32-bit/x86), which you will find here:

Then, retry the Windows Agent installation.
